A bit late on the roadmap, the beautiful season seems to have really arrived, with a shining sun and hotter and longer days!
It is precisely at this moment that the Italians plan the famous spring cleaning: for many it is now a routine, many others do not know where to start…
Let's see together in this article a checklist of 10 points to make sure you don't forget anything!
1. Start with a good OrganizationIt may seem trivial and obvious, but one of the crucial points is organization: our advice is to write down all the things we have to do, creating a note on our smartphone or more simply on a notepad, putting everything in order of priority.
2. Decide what to Delete
Surely you have accumulated a lot of things in your home that you will never use again in your life; before you even start cleaning, it's a good idea to locate all these objects and eliminate them, in order to save time later.
You will be able to find things to throw away (and we strongly recommend that you differentiate your waste) or objects, such as clothes, shoes and other objects that can have a second life: have you ever thought about taking all these things to a flea market? You help the environment and you may even get some money back.
3. Wash the curtains
A very important thing in spring cleaning is to wash the curtains!
Pay attention to the composition of your curtains and always try to do a delicate wash with a low spin cycle. If you want to have curtains that give off perfume over time, take a look at our Perfume for Laundry : a few caps will be enough to have very fragrant curtains!
4. Remove dust from chandeliers and paintings
Do you have any idea how much dust can form on your paintings or, even worse, on your chandeliers? Try to take a look!
5. Have carpets cleaned
Even carpets are constantly exposed to dust and over time they become the perfect home for germs and bacteria: it's important to have your carpets cleaned every now and then in special centres, in order to wash and sanitize them without the risk of damaging them!
6. Thoroughly clean the Kitchen
The Italian kitchen is one of the rooms in the house that is most used and due to the function it performs, it is also the one most likely to get dirty.
Cleaning the kitchen could take a long time, but it's important to do it well to completely eliminate all types of dirt, grease and bacteria from the area where our food is prepared.
It is advisable to pay particular attention to household appliances, especially ovens and microwave ovens: there are also specific products to completely eliminate any type of fat.
7. Pass the Radiators
Unless you live in a modern house with underfloor heating, radiators are elements of our home that trap a lot of dust in hidden places. We pay particular attention to the holes and the back of the radiators, helping us with special dusters or with a small compressor: initially it will make a little dust around, but then it will suffice to suck it up and your radiators will be as good as new!
8. Sanitize the bathrooms
Let's also remember to give our bathrooms a deeper cleaning, perhaps using a steamer to sanitize bathroom fixtures, tiles and joints!
9. Clean Mattresses
The warm season is also an opportunity to thoroughly clean our mattresses, shaking them outside, vacuuming them from both sides with a vacuum cleaner and leaving them in the open air for a few hours!
10. Remember to have fun
Well yes, spring cleaning can be long and boring, but if you find a way to do it while having fun, you will certainly cut the effort in half: an idea could be not to do it alone or to let yourself be accompanied by your favorite music!
